HAYES, Floyd Milton
HAYES, Floyd Milton Born November 2, 1930 in Minnesota and passed away August 1, 2014 at home in Palmdale, Calif., after a yearlong battle with cancer. When word spread of his passing, one phrase was repeated time and time again, 'He was a great man'. He joined the Army in 1949 and was part of the 16th Infantry, The Big Red 1. During his tour in Germany he met his wife of 64 amazing years, Shirley Hayes. Shortly after their return to the U.S. their only child, Patricia, was born. During his long life he retired from Lockheed after 39 years, was a pilot, a flight instructor, helped create the San Fernando CAP, Squadron 35, and was a LT. COL., an avid camper and an amazing dad, grandpa and great-grandpa. He is survived by his wife Shirley; his daughter Pat Sanders (Jim); granddaughters, Heidi Ramirez (Misael), Heather Fischer (Jason); great- grandchildren, Alexander, Daniel, Gabriel, Cristian and Sydney; nieces, Rosalie Jones (and Family); extended family, The Brammer family and Harrington family.
