MILLARD, Connie H.
MILLARD, Connie H. Born Oct. 3, 1946 in Bay City, Texas, passed away on July 8, 2014 in Lancaster, Calif. Connie graduated from Santa Maria Union High School in 1964 and Arizona State University in 1968. She began her elementary teaching career near Phoenix, Ariz., and then in San Antonio, Texas. She met Michael D. Millard at Castle Hills Baptist Church in San Antonio, Texas, and they married there on June 28, 1974. With her husband, she moved to California in 1974, eventually settling in the Antelope Valley. She taught various elementary grades at Desert Christian Schools, and retired from Monte Vista Elementary in 2010. She was a nurturing gardener, teacher, wife, mother, and grandmother. She was deeply devout, caring, and creative. She wrote poems and reflections in her native Spanish and English. Connie is survived by her husband of 40 years, Michael D. Millard; her two children, Joshua Millard and Elisa Frias; her daughter-in-law, Pyungwha Oh; her son-in-law, Eryk Frias; her two 'red-headed daughters,' Amy Reed and Carrie Mecham; her two granddaughters, Audriana Frias and Alyson Frias; her siblings, Virginia Aguilar, Ben Aguilar, and Bob Aguilar; and many other loved ones. Her memorial service will be held at Grace Chapel in Lancaster, on Tues., July 15, 2014 at 3pm. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
