MELENDEZ, Ignacio Nacho
MELENDEZ, Ignacio 'Nacho' Age 71, of Rosamond, Calif., was rewarded eternal peace and everlasting life as he entered Heaven's Gates on Friday June 20, 2014. He entered Paradise as a result of traumatic injuries following an auto accident in Lancaster, Calif. Nacho was born in Fort Hancock, Texas to Alvino and Ignacia Melendez. He loved his mother dearly, for whom he was named after. He grew up in a small town in Texas and as a faithful Catholic, served the Lord by doing many good deeds and helping those in need. After graduating high school, he entered the Army. Upon Honorable Discharge from the Army, he worked 31 years for Lockheed Martin as a Flight Test Mechanic, attended college for business, and served as Union Steward prior to retirement in 2003. During retirement, he enjoyed trips with his wife, Mary Lou, to Laughlin, Nevada, Texas and Oklahoma. While at home, he enjoyed gardening in his yard and feeding the ducks that always found their way to him. He enjoyed going to antique shops in search of rare finds and traveled many states to do this. He loved the Dallas Cowboys while Mary Lou loved all Michigan teams. It was always interesting to visit him when the Cowboys and Lions played. He loved Freddy Fender and would sing his favorite songs 'to the top of his lungs', as fondly recalled by his daughter Kami. Nacho had a great sense of humor; one time he went to work wearing one brown shoe and one black. He enjoyed betting on horses, although he was not good at it; no fortunes from the horses for Nacho. To him, fortune came from the love of his wife, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and extended family. Forever missing Nacho's kind spirit, warm smile, and loving heart are his beautiful and faithful wife Mary Lou who will forever miss having him to pray with her, children and stepchildren Tim (Mary) Brooks, Anthony (Lori) Brooks, Tammy (Frank)Lindsey, Misti Beth (Tony) Hawkins, Kami (Tony)Runyon, Misty Renee (Chris)Wood, Gino Melendez, and Lani Melendez; sister Betty Melendez and brother-in-law Ron Gillis. Also survived by 19 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Alvino and Ignacia Melendez; sister Suki and brother's Alvin and Oscar. John 6:39-40 And this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all that he has given me, but raise them up at the last day. For my Father's will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.
