He graduated from Jamesport High School and soon after joined the Navy where he traveled the world on different ships. He purchased a home in Lancaster in 1975 while still in the service to be near his family upon his retirement. After retirement he purchased an 18 wheeler and drove the 48 states for North American Van Lines. After a serious accident he decided to retire again and spent most of his remaining years on a golf course. An avid golfer and a devout Christian, his final years were spent golfing, helping his fellow man and enjoying his home and his dog Ruff. His passion for deviled eggs will be long remembered by all. He is survived by his sister Betty Smith, Lancaster, many nieces and nephews and their extended families, cousins and numerous friends throughout the U.S. He was preceded in death by his two brothers, sister and his daughter Yvette in 2013. At his request his remains were cremated and a private family celebration of life will be held at a later date. Condolences may be sent to 43228 20th St. West, Lancaster CA 93534. Donation in his memory may be made to the Wm. J. Pete Knight Veterans Home in Lancaster for the Putting Green planned for that facility.
