LEWIS, Gertrude M.
LEWIS, Gertrude M. Born April 11, 1919 in Asher, Ky., passed away May 15, 2014 in Lancaster, Calif. Gertrude grew up in Hyden, Ky., and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. She was a resident of the AV for 58 years. Gertrude was a School Teacher, Secretary and a Homemaker. She received awards from the PTA, YMCA, Christian Womens Club, Republican Women and was a Sunday School Teacher for 40 years. She is survived by her daughters, Suzanne Hunt (Brad) and Tammy Gilliland (Kevin); son, Mark Lewis (Debbie); grandchildren, Joy Pattison (Hank), Clayton Hunt, Todd Gilliland (Jessica), Cody Lewis, Shelbey Hunt (Rachel) and Lindsey Lewis. She is preceded in death by her husband Robert C. Lewis. Memorial service will be held at 2 pm, May 27, 2014 at Grace Chapel, 44648 15th St. West, Lancaster, CA. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to a veterans organization of your choice.
