BRUBAKER, Ronald Age 84, of Palmdale passed away peacefully in his sleep with his family by his side on March 29, 2014. He was born in 1930 in Bulawayo, Rhodesia (now known as Zimbabwe) to missionary parents, Henry and Grace Brubaker. After coming to the states at age 19, he met Mary at Upland College, who soon became his wife. He served in the U.S. Navy and saw active duty during the Korean War.He worked at Northrop, Rocketdyne, and JPL, working on many projects, from the F1 engine to the Ulysses and Galileo projects.His time was spent at Edwards, Pasadena, and Cape Canaveral. Ron was a member of the Palmdale Presbyterian Church for many years and served as an elder and Sunday School Superintendent. He was a current member of Palmdale United Methodist Church.He was a devoted Christian man who found great joy in his faith and family. He enjoyed woodworking and restoring classic automobiles. Ron is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary; his sons, Randy (Connie) Brubaker, and Kevin (Cathy) Brubaker, and his daughters, Cindy (Mike) Raikes, Pam (Tim) Ewalt, and April (Hugo) Schraer.Ron is also survived by his 13 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren, and his sister, Edna. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Palmdale United Methodist Church. A memorial service will be held at 11am, on Thursday, April 3, 2014 at the Palmdale United Methodist Church, Palmdale, Calif. Chapel of the Valley Mortuary,
