Petie grew up in Palmdale and graduated from Palmdale High School, Class of 1966. She was a Debutante, cheerleader, played tennis, and was featured on national television winning 1st place in the Couples Dance Contest. She earned her B.A. from Sacramento State, and an M.S. from Chapmen College. She was very strong, kind, loving, caring and thoughtful lady, and gave her friendship generously. Her heart was pure gold and a real classy lady. She enjoyed modeling with the Models Auxiliary to Assistance League of AV and especially enjoyed performing as a member of the Boogie Woogie Mamas. She was an Event Coordinator for the Building Industry Association (BIA), Marketing Analyst for BAE Flight Systems in Mojave, and a Relocation Consultant for Odyssey. Her hobbies included tennis and racquetball, dancing, hiking, motorcycle riding, photography, horseback riding, and reading. She was a very loving wife, daughter, and sister. Petie is survived by her husband Don Edwards; mother, Gladys Cole (Frank); and brother Scott Van Salter (Anne). Memorial service to celebrate her life will be at the Palmdale United Methodist Church at 39055 10th St West, at 3 pm, Tuesday, January 28, 2014. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. Our hearts are broken and she will be greatly missed until we are all together again in a better place with the LORD.
