SALAZAR, Gloria Mae
SALAZAR, Gloria Mae, Age 78, passed away peacefully, on December 9, 2013, in the company of her loving family.Gloria was born on November 24, 1935, in Denver, Colorado. She met her future husband, Arthur Salazar, at the age of 13, when he was delivering the Denver Post to homes in her neighborhood.Some years later, after Arthur was discharged from the U.S. Air Force, they began to date and ultimately married, on February 5, 1958. Once Arthur received his masters degree from Adams State University, the family moved to California where they have remained ever since. Gloria was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who dedicated her life to the self-sacrificing task of caring for her family and home. She was selfless and always put her family's needs above her own. Gloria was an excellent cook and loved to sew, crochet, and work crossword puzzles. But above all else she enjoyed spending time with her family. Gloria is survived by her devoted and loving husband Arthur, her beloved children, Diana Heaberlin (Alan), Colleen Adolfson (Ed), David Ron Salazar (Lori), Sheryl Salazar (widow), and Joseph Salazar (Cynthia), and her cherished grandchildren, Jerome, Jordan, Xavier, and Levi. In addition, she is predeceased by her older sister, Louise Frazzini, and survived by her younger sister, MaryAnn Martinez, numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. She will remain in our hearts forever. Gloria will be honored at a memorial service at 6 pm, Saturday, January 11, 2014, at Halley Olsen Murphy Funerals and Cremation, Lancaster, California. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the Antelope Valley Hospital Foundation (661)949-5810 where Gloria had received exceptional care. www.homlancaster.com
