DAVIDSON, Dean Born Aug. 8, 1936, in Stuart, Iowa, passed away at home in Lancaster Nov. 30, 2013. He graduated from Custer High School and South Dakota School of Mines and Technology, Rapid City, S.D. Dean was a Captain in the Army and served 5 years in Germany with the 503rd Engineering Company and lived in the Antelope Valley for 42 years. He retired as an estimator for Gary Little Construction; worked as an estimator for Norm Freeman, F2M; was chief estimator for Santa Fe Engineers. He selflessly gave of his time and resources, helping others whenever he could. He enjoyed teaching Sunday school and Bible Study classes, and especially loved volunteering with Royal Family Kids', a camp and mentoring program for abused children, a charity he worked with for over 20 years. Dean went on mission trips to the Philippines, Poland, Romania, Ecuador, Panama and Mexico working on projects for Teen challenge, Latin America Childcare, and helped with building churches. Dean is survived by his wife Karen; sons Eric; Jeremy (Tara), grandchildren Vincent and Caitlyn, Lancaster; Gary (Elizabeth) of Marsailles, Ill; daughters Darlene Kloppel (Jim) of Urbana, Ill., and Doe of Ankeny, Iowa; 9 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; Two sisters Colleen Scott of Custer, S.D. and Dixie Davidson of Long Beach. Services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013, at Lancaster First Assembly, 44514 20th St. West, Lancaster.
