Obituary Notices and Memorials

COSGROVE, Leonard Leonard Arthur Cosgrove has entered eternal life on Friday, November 8, 2013. Born August 2, 1924 in San Diego, and throughout his lifetime Leonard made the most out of every moment, from serving in the armed forces during World War II to falling in love with Mary (Sky) Reuter wife and mother of their three children: Gary, Brad, and Kevin. Always enjoying a good laugh, Leonard never missed an opportunity to travel the world or try his luck playing golf, tennis, and countless card games. Practicing law in the Antelope Valley for over fifty years, Leonard received his J.D. from Loyola Marymount University, was a member of the Antelope Valley Bar Association (President 1959), the State Bar of California, and served as United States Magistrate Judge from 1970 to 1994 before retiring in 1997. He was also an active member of Lancaster Elks Lodge B.P.O.E. where he served as Exalted Ruler (1967-1968) and D.D.G.E.R. (1971-1972). His spirit is carried on by sons Gary and Brad (wife Lori), grandchildren Patrick and Casey, and numerous friends not to be forgotten. Leonard is preceded in death by son Kevin and his beloved wife sky, whom he joins on their new travels through the heavens. In lieu of flowers, the family would like to request donations be made to the Lancaster B.P.O.E. Major Project, a charity near and dear to Leonard's heart that helps to address unmet needs of children with disabilities. Private services will be held for the family. Arrangements entrusted to Halley Olsen Murphy, Lancaster
