MULKINS, Ada
MULKINS, Ada Born April 19, 1931 in Redondo Beach, passed away Oct. 13, 2013 in Quartz Hill. The eighth child in a family of 10 children, Ada was well known as a gourmet cook. Over the years, she won numerous blue ribbons at the Antelope Valley Fair for her baked goods, later serving as a judge for many years. Ada also wrote a food column for the Antelope Valley Press. Her husband, Richard Mulkins, passed away in 2009 after 61 years of marriage. She is survived by her sister, Teresa Bland of Quartz Hill, and another sister, Marilyn Gale of Lake Elsinore; children Susan (Steve) Buffalo, Jerry (Annie) Mulkins, Marilyn (Seth) Houston; grandchildren Abby (Mike) Livingston, Misty (Glen) Luettgerodt, Adam (Katie) Mulkins, Brent (Heidi) Buffalo, Melissa (Stuart) Boyles, Emily Lopez; great grandchildren: Jade, Megan, Colton, Ariana, Kaia, Aiden, Ashlynn, Cody and Brice. She also leaves behind her dear friend and companion Lafayette Smith; close friends Don and Martha Bakeman and their children, Donnie and Ryan.
