VANCE, Monte M
VANCE, Monte M. Monte was born October 1, 1942 in Phoenix, Ariz. The son of Mable and Osborne Vance. Married to Patty Vance in 2007. Monte joined the US Navy and served for 4 years active duty aboard the ship USS Bausell (DD-845). Joined the L.A. Fire Department in 1971. Received five awards for Certificate of Recognition in the Tractor Co. also received The Medal of Valor for outstanding performances. Retired in 1992 due to a heart attack and could no longer perform his duties as a fireman. Went to work for G.E. driving for Youngs Generators also received an award for Excellent Performers. Retired in 2003 due to health problems. Joined the Palmdale Elks Lodge 2027 in September of 2005. Monte is survived by his wife Patty Vance, daughters Teresa Brown, son Kevin Vance, sisters Carolyn Cropper, Annette Mitchell, and Linda Dickerson, many grandchildren nieces and nephews and many loyal friends. Memorial services will be at noon Sunday Nov. 3rd, at the Palmdale Elks 2027, 2705 East Avenue Q, Palmdale, Calif.
