MAY, Burnie O'Dell
MAY, Burnie ODell Born November 10, 1919 in Barboursville, West Virginia, a 27 year resident of the Antelope Valley passed away on October 19, 2013 in Lancaster. Burnie grew up in West Virginia and Kentucky. He serviced as a SSgt., in the United States Army at the Battle of the Bulge and the Crossing of the Rhine during World War II. In 1956 Burnie had that pioneer spirit and relocated to Calif. for a better life for his family. He found a career in the Aerospace Industry for Rockwell International and retired in 1979. He loved spending time with his family. Burnie was a devoted and loving husband for 71 years to Helen Louise and beloved by his entire family. Burnie is survived by his wife Helen Louise; 2 daughters: Sharon Lee Thasen (Roger) of Grants Pass, Ore. and Donna Faye Johnston of Lancaster, Calif.; grandchildren: Helena 'Bunny' Megugorac (Jason); Roberta 'Bobbi' Johnston, (Scott Houston) and Sherry Devos (Bill); 5 great grandchildren: Amanda Lee Cole, Sarah Beth Erstrom, Mitchell Megugorac and Willem and Garret Devos; a great great grandchild: Kayden Patrick Erstrom. He is preceded in death by his parents Oscar and Mary; 4 brothers and 5 sisters. Viewing/Visitation will be held at 11:30 am, Wednesday, October 23, 2013 with graveside services to follow at 1 pm at Joshua Memorial Park, Lancaster www.joshuamortuary.com
