HIGGINS, Allyn Edward 'Pinky' Born September 24, 1917 in Fort Fairfield, Maine. Pinky passed away at his home five days short of his 96th birthday. He joined his wife Edith who left us on May 28, 2010. Pinky enlisted in the US Army in 1939 later transferring to the US Air Force. He served in many overseas areas including, Burma, China, and Japan. He received 11 awards and medals, including; World War II Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and the Air Force Longevity Service Award. He retired from the US Air Force in 1960, continued to work at Edwards Air Force Base as Chief of Quality Control from 1960-1973. Throughout his life he enjoyed playing baseball and watching his favorite team the Angel's. He also enjoyed bowling, golf, and making golf clubs for his friends. He is survived by his children, Phil (June), Jim, Susan, Nora (Glenn) Peterson, Joanne (Dan) Jacobs, his sister Janet Wilson, nieces Carol Barber and Jeanne Sundahl and grandchildren, Kathleen Krafve, Shannon Morgans, Sean Higgins, Michael Peterson, Aaron Peterson, Eric Jacobs, Brett Jacobs, Lindsey Peterson, Melissa Johnson, and Katie Jacobs. The family extends a special thank you to his loving caregiver Lucy and all his many special 'ANGELS' that have helped throughout the last several years.
