LOVETT, Mildred Catherine
LOVETT, Mildred Catherine 'Millie' Longtime valley resident, Mildred (Millie) Lovett, passed away in her sleep on August 30, 2013. She was born January 1, 1922 in Flatbush, Brooklyn, N.Y. She married John William Lovett in 1943. Millie moved to the Antelope Valley with Bill, in 1949. They came from Long Island, N.Y., and were married for 64 years, when Bill died in October or 2007 at 90 years old. Millie was actively involved in her community: working at the Antelope Valley Fair for 35 years, tutoring second-language learners, helping out at the Poppy Preserve, volunteering for the Salvation Army, and Sacred Heart Catholic Church, as well as being an active member of the Zonta Club, the Women's Club, and the A.V. Desert Riders Club. Millie is survived by her three daughters: Sandy (Norm) Warren, Sue Mandolph, and Jan Lovett, and one son John (Pam) Lovett. Grandchildren Megan (Trent) Burkett, Heather (Tommy) Mathews and Johnny (Stephanie) Lovett. Great-grandchildren Eli and Logan Burkett, Blaine and Tucker Mathews and Kyleeh and Tannen Lovett. She was also preceded in death by granddaughter Marias Mandolph in September of 2009. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 am, Thursday, September 12, 2013 at The Well Lutheran Church located at Our Shepherd Lutheran Church , 42521 20th Street West, Lancaster, Calif. 93534. Pastor Todd Neibling presiding. In lieu of flowers please make donations to The Well or Saddle Up Therapeutic Riding Stables, Palmdale Calif. Arrangements by Halley Olsen Murphy, Lancaster
