LANDON, John Noble
LANDON, John Noble 83, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2013 at his home in Lancaster, California. John was born October 12, 1929 to Noble and Christina (Baca) Landon in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He had three (half) siblings; Anona Landon, Lenore Landon, and Lawrence Landon. John graduated from Albuquerque High School in 1948. John served in the Navy during the Korean War. While training in Tucson, Arizona, he met his beautiful bride, Lidia Arreola. They married in 1955 and soon after, moved to California. John worked as a training supervisor for Lockheed Martin for 28 years. A Master's Degree graduate from La Verne University, John taught management classes for both Antelope Valley College and La Verne University. John was a lover of flamenco, foreign languages, his home state of New Mexico, and all things to historical, especially his own family genealogy. Locally, he was a member and past president of both The Latin American Club and The Italian Catholic Federation. John was active in the Antelope Valley Archaeological Society, Toast Masters International, the AV Chapter of Mensa, and Sacred Heart Church, where he served a term as Director of Religious Education. John was a hopeless romantic and a wonderful father who always provided his family with a roof over their heads and food on the table. From music and dance lessons, to summer camps and college, he saw to it that his children never went without. John is survived by his children John Anthony and Mary Landon, Lidia and Greg Michael, Tina and Michael Winfree, grandchildren Aubrey Landon, Gabriel& Laura Michael, Raquel, Giovan, Garrett, Giancarlo and Angelina Michael, God-granddaughter Alexandra O'Shannon, sister in law Susie Arreola, and numerous nieces and nephews from Tucson, Arizona and Albuquerque New Mexico. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2013 at Father Serra Parish Catholic Church at 9:30a.m. Vigil/Rosary will take place on Friday, August 16, 2013 at Haley Olsen Murphy Chapel in Lancaster at 7:00 p.m.
