LEHMANN, David Arlen
LEHMANN, David Arlen BORN on August 11, 1936, passed away on August 14, 2013 He grew up in Forest Lake, Minn. Graduated 1954 F.L.H.S. Served 2 years active duty in United States Army - 4 years in Reserves. Served 35 years on Los Angles County Fire Department 20 years at Station 24 in Palmdale. This was his first love driving "Big Red" was his joy. He polished that engine as though it was his own, even putting blue dot taillights on it. He loved anything with wheels. If he wasn't driving or racing he would find another way to "go fast." Later he bought a boat he called his NASCAR boat. The only time he slowed down was for fishing. In 1979 he married his "Little Bride" Mary and established his beloved Breezy Dam Ranch in Palmdale. Together David and Mary hosted many BBQs, parties, Weddings, life celebrations, Thanksgiving feasts, and "howling at the moon" festivities. After spending 50+ years in the Antelope Valley, David yearned for the peace, quiet and "green" of the Rogue River where he bought his dream home in 2007 complete with his own "man-cave." Survived by his wife of 35 years Mary, son David Blair Lehmann and his sons Ryan C., Nathan C. and daughter Krystal along with her daughter Neveah. David is also survived by stepson Troy Bergren and his son Kenneth, stepdaughter Jenz and her daughter Mythia Sky. He was also older brother to Peggy (Bob) Propper and brother Rich (Cindee) Lehmann. He was surrounded by many nieces, nephews and cousins whom visited him and helped him celebrate his 77th birthday just days before his passing. A Flag ceremony will be held on September 10, 2013 at 10 am at Station 24, 1050 W. Ave. P, Palmdale, Calif. Followed by a Celebration of Life gathering at Poncitl‡n Square. Dress is casual bring own blankets or chairs. Refreshments will be provided by the Los Angeles County Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. In lieu of flowers please donate to the Alicia Ann Ruch Burn Foundation, Burbank, Calif. in David's name.
