VAN GILDER, Earl Stanley
VAN GILDER, Earl Stanley Born to Hazel Stanley and Earl Van Gilder on February 15, 1928, in Kansas City, Mo. Earl served in the Merchant Marines during World War II, and later in the National Guard. Earl married the love of his life, Ruth Peek, on January 6, 1949. They made their home in Gardena, Calif., in 1950. They moved to Lancaster, Calif., in 1963, with their three children. He worked in the aircraft industry until he retired. He and Ruth moved to Rosamond, Calif., in 2006, where he spent his final days. He passed away in his sleep on June 4, 2013. Earl is survived by his wife of 64 years, Ruth Van Gilder. His three children, Evalie (and William Wagner) of Bishop, Calif.; Mark (and Cynthia) Van Gilder of Lancaster, Calif.; and Marla (and Frederick Lam) of Rosamond, Calif. His eight grandchildren, Miranda (and Michael Harrison), Benjamin (and Lisa), and Leah of Bishop, Calif.; Samuel, Micah, and Abigail of Lancaster, Calif; and Emily and Johauna (and Klian Ochoa) of Rosamond, Calif., and his three great-grandchildren, Riplee and Revel Wagner of Bishop, Calif.; and Jace Lam-Ochoa of Lancaster, Calif.
