TAYLOR, Jocelyn Denise
TAYLOR, Jocelyn Denise A 61 year resident of the Antelope Valley, died May 18, 2013, at the age of 87. She was born Jocelyn D. Rose on December 31, 1925, the middle of six children, on the Caribbean Island of Barbados. She married Irven S. Taylor, a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army Air Corps, on April 17, 1943; they were married for 59 years. Jocelyn became a naturalized U.S. citizen at the age of 21. A life-time homemaker, gardener, and talented craftsman, Jocelyn shared a passion for miniatures with her family. She loved puzzles, bird watching, and many dogs during her 87 years. She was active in Order of Eastern Stars, Boron Chapter, holding many officer positions and receiving her 50 year pin in 2011. Jocelyn is survived by her sister, Fleur Dolphin, son Art Taylor, daughter-in- law Pat Taylor, daughter Sheila Sola, son-in-law Carlos Sola, granddaughter J. Jocelyn McQuarrie, two nephews, a niece, and extended family members. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and four siblings. At Jocelyn's request there will be no public funeral services; however, a memorial donation may be made to: The Antelope Valley Rural Museum, 2251 West Avenue H, Suite 102, Lancaster, California 93534.
