McGOUGH, Veronica E.
McGOUGH, Veronica E. A resident of the Antelope Valley for 40 years, passed away Saturday, May 4, 2013. She was born in Lakeville, Minn., on February 29, 1932, and moved to the Antelope Valley in 1973. She met Lloyd Hertz and spent many happy years living on the Eastside of Lancaster. She worked as a civilian employee for the U.S. Army at Edwards A.F.B. from September 1977, retiring in October 1990. Veronica was an active member of the American Legion Auziliary at Post 311, holding many offces including President, Secretary, Treasurer, and a Leader/Mentor for Girls State for more than 20 years. She was also a mem- ber of the 8 & 40. Veronica was preceded in death by Lloyd Hertz and daughters Mary McGough and Lori Rogers. She is survived by daughters Lucille Heid (John) of Phoenix, Ariz., Theresa Bartels (Richard) of Lake Havasu City, Ariz., son Michael McGough of Lancaster, Calif., grandchildren Kellie Terrett (Wayne) of Lake Arrowhead, Calif., Timothy Heid of Phoenix, Ariz., Matthew West of Breckinridge, Colo., Kevin Heid of Phoenix, Ariz., Tyler Rogers of San Leandro, Calif., and great-grandsons Troy and Joseph Terrett, both of Lake Arrowhead, Calif. Services will be held at 12:30 p.m., Friday, May 10, 2013, at Chapel of the Valley Mortuary, followed by an informal gathering of family and friends at the American Legion Post 311 Pavilion at 3 p.m. The family requests in lieu of flowers donations to the American Legion Womens Auxiliary Unit 311. You may sign the condolence book at Chapel of the Valley Mortuary, Palmdale, Directors.
