BEALL, James E.
BEALL, James E. 76, Passed away peacefully at home in Lancaster, Calif., on April 13, 2013. Jim was born in Fresno, Calif., on Feb. 2, 1937. Upon graduation from Dorsey High in Los Angeles in 1955, Jim joined the Navy. He served on the U.S.S. Hornet during the Korean War. He eventually followed his chosen trade of photography by hiring into North American Aviation in El Segundo. As the company moved on to become North American -Rockwell and then Rockwell Int'l., Jim's assignments flowed between various programs, both at Space Division in Downey and Palmdale and many states and locations with the B-1B program. Upon retiring from aerospace, Jim joined the Los Angeles Co. Sheriff's Dept., in Lancaster as a Volunteer on Patrol, serving 13 years as a unit leader, earning many awards. As a member of the Lancaster Elks Lodge, Jim enjoyed assisting with special projects. His sports were hunting, fishing and camping. He leaves behind his wife of 32 years, Joan; daughter Jannine Busby; sister Merleen McLean; brother Merlin Beall; three step-children, Valerie Economu, Kathryn Martinez, and David Schack; eight grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. No local services are planned, but a private family memorial will be held in the future. In lieu of flowers, you may honor Jim by contributing to 'Hoffmann Hospice', 655 W. Ave. Q-6, Suite A, Palmdale, CA 93551.
