OLSON, Gaby Marie Therese LePe
OLSON, Gaby Marie Therese LePeltier Born February 20, 1928, in Lahore, India. Passed away April 9, 2013, in Lancaster, Calif. Gaby was educated by Catholic nuns in Lahore India and received a degree from the University of Oxford England. Gaby lived in the Antelope Valley for 56 years. On April 9, 2013, Gaby passed on into the loving arms of her husband of 53 years, Glenn Sr. Gaby started her career in the catalogue department of Sears Roebuck & Co. Through hard work and persistence, she worked her way to becoming the secretary to the store manager and Human Resource manager in the Lancaster store. She retired from the Merced Sears store in 1987, after having the distinction of becoming the first female assistant store manager for Sears Roebuck & Co. Gaby was an accomplished porcelain artist and won numerous ribbons and awards for her work. Her family and friends in the U.S., Europe and around the world continue to use and enjoy her beautiful pieces of art. She took great pleasure in the joy that her works of art brought to many people. Her love of art inspired her gardening: and her "wall of pink roses" has been admired by many of the residents of Lancaster. She was a member of the National Secretaries, Catholic Daughters, Ladies Auxil- iary, Models Auxillary, International Porcelain Artists and Teachers and NAIM Bereavement group. As a young bride, Gaby traveled to the United States in 1947, with her husband Glenn, and they spent many happy years together until his passing in 1998. Gaby was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was a beautiful lady inside and out and all who knew her were charmed by her grace and beauty. She was an inspiration to many and touched many lives. Her wisdom and "joie de vivre" will truly be missed. Survived by her children: Arlene (Francis) Nakamura of Henderson, Nev., Glenn (Patty) Olson Jr. of Austin, Texas, Susan (Kirk) Wallis of Lancaster, Calif., grandchildren: Sara- Marie Nakamura, David Wallis, Philip Olson, Hilary Yarborough, Margaret Olson Alexander Wallis, her sister Renee Anderson resides in Surrey, England. She is also survived by her family in the United States and England; and all her lifelong friends. Mass of Resurrection will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at Blessed Junipero Serra Parish, 42121 60th Street West Lancaster, Calif., Celebrant by: Fr. Joseph Scalco.
