BUDD, Ruth Hoerner
BUDD, Ruth Hoerner May 19, 1923-March 11, 2013 Ruth Budd, a longtime resident of Lancaster, passed away at the age of 89. Ruth was a valued member of Lancaster's business and philanthropic community. Born one of sixteen siblings on May 19, 1923, on the Demanett family farm in Aurora, Kansas, Ruth moved to Lancaster as an adult to raise her family. She founded her own business, Ruth Hoerner Insurance and Tax and ran it successfully until she retired in 2004. Ruth was a proud and active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and Order of the Moose. Ruth was preceded in death by her first husband Emory Hoerner and second husband John Budd as well as her loving companion John Whitman. Ruth is survived by her four children, Al Hoerner of Lake Isabella, Calif., Carolyn Ruth Witt of Danville, Calif., Ronald Hoerner, Sr., of Corvallis, Mont., and Gary Hoerner of Lancaster. She is also survived by her six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Friends and family wishing to honor Ruth Budd are invited to Joshua Memorial Park & Mortuary at 808 E. Lancaster Blvd in Lancaster. There will be a viewing from 4 to 7 p.m., Monday, March 18, 2013. There will be a closed casket service at 10 a.m., Tuesday, March 19, 2013, followed by the burial. Donations in memory of Ruth Budd may be made to the American Cancer Society.
