PHILLIPS, Carolyn Gibson
PHILLIPS, Carolyn (Gibson) Aug. 2, 1939~Feb. 18, 2013 Born Aug. 2, 1939, in Hugo, Okla. Passed on February 18, 2013, in Lancaster. She was preceded in death by her parents Emerson and Loyce Gibson. Carolyn graduated from Antelope Valley High School, in 1957, and then worked for General Telephone for several years. Carolyn married the love of her life Lee Phillips. They were married 49 years. Carolyn is survived by her daughter Lisa Phillips D'Errico, and son Kirk Phillips (Mary Jane), and four grandchildren: Austin, Jakilynn, Jocilee, and Jayden. She is also survived by sister Barbara Ryckebosch (David), brother Glen Gibson (Joy), sister-in- law Stella Cornelius (Lloyd), late brother-in-law Roy Phillips (Floretta), sister-in- law Emma Nix (Wallace), and numerous nieces and nephews. Carolyn enjoyed cooking, music, and art. She was a huge Lakers fan, and also enjoyed going to the movies. Most of all she loved being with her family and friends. Carolyn touched our lives with her colorful personality. Carolyn loved the Lord Jesus Christ with all her heart, and was a devoted lifetime member of the Lancaster Church of Christ. Carolyn peacefully passed, and is now with her Savior forever. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013, at Lancaster Church of Christ, 1655 East Lancaster Blvd.
