ULVIN, Emma Born February 17, 1928, in Redlands, Calif., and passed away January 28, 2013, in Lancaster, California at the age of 84, and was resident of Quartz Hill, California. Marie was very active in her community of Quartz Hill for many years. Marie served as a state officer with the PTA, Library Advisor Board for L.A. County, Quartz Hill Women Club, and Westside School District. And one of the loves of her life her church Christ Our Savor United Methodist Church in Quartz Hill where she played the keyboard for many years. Left to cherish her memory is her loving family, son Stan Ulvin (Chris), daughter Janet Andrews both of Quartz Hill, grandchildren Richard Andrews (Christina) of Bakersfield, Jessica Peterson (Kris), Stuart Ulvin both from Quartz Hill, great-grandchildren Henry and Georgia Andrews, Teagan Peterson and sister Lucile Calkins (Bob). She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years Bud Ulvin. Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, February 2, 2013, at Christ Our Savor United Methodist Church Quartz Hill. Private interment will be held at Lancaster District Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Christ Our Savor United Methodist Church in Marie's name. Arrangements entrusted to Halley Olsen Murphy Funerals & Cremations, Lancaster.
