MEDEIROS, Gilda C. April 9, 1919~Dec. 20, 2012 Passed away peacefully at age 93, with family by her side on December 20, 2012. Born April 9, 1919, in New Bedford, Mass., her family relocated to Los Angeles when she was a young girl. She owned a successful millinery store for many years. She was a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great- grandmother. She was loved by all who knew her. Her passing follows the death of her childhood sweetheart in 2010, they were married 74 years. She is survived by her sister Gloria, her only son John and his wife Pam as well as three generations of grandchildren. A visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m., with a Vigil prayer service starting at 7:30 p.m., Friday, December 28, 2012, at Halley Olsen Murphy, Lancaster Chapel. Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, Montebello, Calif. www.homlancaster.com
