COWART, Virginia Rose (Payne)
COWART, Virginia Rose (Payne) Passed away Dec. 5, 2012, at Prestige Assisted Living in Henderson, Nev. Virginia resided in Lancaster, Calif. She is survived by husband of 57 years, Eugene Clay Cowart. Virginia served in the WAC during World War II. She retired from Bank of America, Lancaster Branch and worked at AVJUHS School in the Cafeteria. She belonged to the Beta Sigma Phi (Laureate Gamma Epsilon) Lancaster Chapter for many years. She and Eugene were members of the Antelope Valley Gem & Mineral Club and enjoyed many outings. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents Madeline and Phinis Payne, sister Margaret Cross, and daughter Suzanne Denhardt. She is survived by daughters Jeanne (William) Webb of Michigan, Mary (Jeffery) Marles of Las Vegas, and Dorothy Davis of England. Eight grandchildren, Michael Webb, Ronald Webb, Kenneth Webb, Sharin Caldwell, Frank Hendricks, James Marles, Michelle Butler and Amy Davis. Twelve great-grandchildren, Wayne Webb, Russell Webb, Ethen Webb, Madeline Webb, Ashley Webb, Shelby Webb, Leslie Caldwell, Tyler Caldwell, Erick Hendricks, Justina Hendricks, Olivia Butler, Teegan Davis. Four great- great-grandchildren, Brenden Webb, Raeleena Webb, Travis Webb, Landon Webb. Virginia enjoyed spending time at the Lancaster Senior Center, and was an avid bingo Player at the Knights of Columbus in Lancaster. She will be greatly missed by family and friends. Many thanks to our friends and staff at Creekside Hospice for their love and care. Internment at Bunkers Memory Gardens, Las Vegas, Nev. Dec. 14, 2012.
