TINTOCALIS, John Anastasios
TINTOCALIS, John Anastasios John Tintocalis, who was also known as "Mr. T"to countless students in the Palmdale School District, died Monday in Palmdale. He was 72. John was born and raised in Concord, New Hampshire;one of three sons to Greek immigrant parents Anastasios and Theodora Tintocalis.John was an accomplished athlete in baseball and football at Concord High School.He moved to Los Angeles, Calif.,in 1962.After meeting his wife, John moved to Palmdale where he embarked on a lifetime career as a public school teacher.John is remembered is a gentle, loving father whose passions were his family, baseball, and politics.John passed away peacefully at his home.He leavesbehind his wife, Rosa Tintocalis; two daughters, MelisaTintocalis Gauthier and Ana Tintocalis Salcedo; andthree grandchildren. A church service will be held at 4 p.m., November 9, 2012, at St. Constantine and Helen's Greek Orthodox Church,43404 30th Street West, Lancaster. The burial will be heldat 2 p.m., November 10, 2012, at Forest Lawn Memorial inWest Covina, Calif.
