HORNER, Sr. Dennis Mitchell
HORNER, Sr. Dennis Mitchell Born Oct. 24, 1921, in Prairie Hill, Texas. Passed away Oct. 15, 2012, in Bonham, Texas. He grew up in Prairie Hill and attended Hickory Creek; Celeste High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1946, participated in European Theatre. He moved to Long Beach, California, met and married Dorothy Miller, and raised four children. He attained his real estate sales/broker license in Antelope Valley, Calif. He returned to Greenville, Texas in 1976, and continued in real estate, retiring in the mid 1980's. Dennis was a 32 degree Mason. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 335 in Greenville, a member of Scottish Rite Masonry, Dallas and Hella Shriners of Garland, Texas. Member of Emanual Missionary Baptist Church. Survived by his sister Louise (Bill) Caldwell, son Dennis Jr., and daughters Terrie (Don) Rizer, Karen (David) Smith, and Barbara (Leonard) Cederburg; also seven grandchildren and four great-granddaughters, also numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents Jerry and Belle Horner, wife Dorothy, two brothers and sisters, and one grandson. Brother Bobby Sparks of Emanual Missionary Baptist Church officiating.
