LARSON, Eugene Harold
LARSON, Eugene Harold 72, was born in Fort Dodge, Iowa on June 25, 1940. He was raised in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He served four years in the United States Air Force as an Airframe and Power plant Mechanic. After serving his country, he moved to Inglewood, California. He worked in Burbank for Lockheed on the SR-71. He married Lois Harmel on June 7, 1963. They had two children and moved to Palmdale in 1977. He commuted to LAX for 26 years working for flying Tigers Cargo Line/Federal Express and retired in 2002. He enjoyed history, reading and traveled throughout the United States and Europe. He passed away on September 23, 2012, at his home from cancer as a complication to his heart transplant medications. He is survived by his wife, Lois, his children, Glenn Larson of Lancaster and Sharon Halsey of Quartz Hill, grandchildren, Brandon and Sarah Halsey and his sister, Phyllis Sharp and husband Harold of Underwood, Iowa. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, September 28, 2012, at First Lutheran Church in Palmdale with interment to follow at Desert Lawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the First Lutheran Church Stained Glass Window Fund at 38343 15th St., E., Palmdale, CA 93550. Chapel of the Valley Mortuary, Palmdale Directors.
