HICKS, Willie D. A long time resident of the Antelope Valley passed away on September 19, 2012, at his residence in Palmdale, Calif. Mr. and Mrs. Willie D. Hicks were the owners of the first black mortuary in the Antelope Valley. Mrs. Hicks will continue to operate the mortuary. Viewing will be held from 12 to 7 p.m., Friday, Sept. 21, 2012, at Hicks Mortuary, 661-944-4595, 8837 East Palmdale Blvd, Palmdale, CA 93552. Services will be held at 12 noon, Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012, at Living Stone Cathedral Church of Worship, 37721 North 100th Street East, Littlerock, CA 93543. Interment will be at Desert Lawn Memorial Park, Palmdale, Calif.
