UNZUETA, Alfred Born in Durango, Colorado on Feb. 28, 1925. Al passed at home in Leona Valley on Sept. 5, 2012. Al is survived by his loving wife, Judith Halstead-Unzueta, his two elder sisters Mary Sauville and Louise Brockner, his eight children: Lance Unzueta, Candace Deponte, Gregory Unzueta, Wendy Medina, Rebecca Koch, Billy and Gary Halstead and Suzanne Marshall, 22 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren, all of whom he loved very much. Al was proud to have served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II from 1943 to 1946. Al was a Firefighter for the Los Angeles City Fire Department serving as a Tillerman on his Ladder Truck. He loved being a firefighter and retired after twenty-seven years of service. Al has resided in Leona Valley, since 1945. His passions were working on his ranch - raising lilacs and traveling in his motor home with his loving wife Judy whom he adored. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 13, 2012, at East Hills Community Church, 20660 Orange Terrace Parkway/at Van Buren Blvd. Riverside CA 92508, with Full Military Honors 1:45 p.m., at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd. Riverside CA 92518.
