PRIMMER, Mildred Mickey (Dun
PRIMMER, Mildred 'Mickey' (Dunham) Passed away at the age of 92, on August 22, 2012. She was born on July 11, 1920, in Gordon, Nebraska to Tracy and Emma Dunham. Mickey grew up on the Westside of the AV where her father was a well-driller with Hall Bros. & Dunham. In 1926, she began school at Del Sur and graduated from AVJUHS with the Class of 1938. Mickey worked at War Eagle Field and Vega during World War II. She married her high school sweetheart, Walt Primmer, a Lancaster native, in 1942. The couple had recently celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on August 2, 2012. Mickey traveled extensively all over the world with Walt's job as a representative with the General Electric Company. She loved being involved with the many cultures in her travels and brought home hundreds of photographs and souvenirs from their trips. She was actively involved with the West Antelope Valley Historical Society. Her love for local history led her to compile the book Del Sur and Beyond in 2005. She loved to research her genealogy and participated in AVHS reunions and the Old Timer's BBQ for many years. Mickey is survived by her husband Walt, daughter Judie Buxton (Robert), son Richard and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son Kenneth in 2001. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012, at Lancaster Cemetery, 111 E. Lancaster Blvd., with a reception to follow at 11 a.m., at the Lancaster Elks Lodge, 240 E. Ave. K. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Mumaw Funeral Home.
