MANOS, David Duane II
MANOS, David Duane II June 20, 1955-Aug. 17, 2012 David was born in Chicago and raised in the San Fernando Valley, graduated at 16, ultimately earning a Bachelor's Degree of Science in Information Technology. He evolved his technological interests into a 30 year career in the aerospace industry at Lockheed, Boeing and most recently 20 years at Northrup-Grumman. Happy, generous, adventurous, humorous, outgoing, witty, and larger than life described David. His lifelong passion for the ocean motivated him to become a certified SCUBA diver at the age of 15, with recent dive trips to the Caribbean, Guam, Hawaii, and AnaCapa with friends. His enthusiasm for the performing arts led him to formal training as a 'voice-over' actor, using this and his natural talents in media and on stage. An avid movie buff, he enjoyed classic movies and recalling dialogue and facts from memory. His appreciation for music ranged from classical to rock. David enjoyed traveling, participating in local culture, nature, history, and cuisine at each destination. Always open to new experiences, he would try almost anything once. He embraced new foods and recipes to share with family and friends. Other favorite activities included snow skiing, mountain biking, and especially riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He loved to make people laugh and made friends easily, always encouraging those around him. His enthusiasm was contagious. David embraced life and all it had to offer. David is survived by his father David Manos Sr., mother Ida Urquiaga, brother Robert, sister Sandra, nephew Nikolas, and by his best friend and love of his life Danita Lewis.
