DiMATTIO, Marino
DiMATTIO, Marino Age 92, passed away July 24, 2012, in Lancaster, California. He was born to Leonardo and Crocifissa DiMattio in Canton, Ohio on July 14, 1920. He attended elementary school and high school in Canton, Ohio. Marino had met his future wife Eva when she was 16 years old and he was 21. He served three years in the U.S. Navy in the Seabees during World War II, from 1942 to 1945. Once Marino himself and Evas family had migrated to California from Ohio Marino and Eva were married at San Gabriel Mission on July 16, 1949. In 1955, Marino was transferred up to Lancaster to work for Convair Aircraft Company. Marino had previously obtained his commercial pilots license at Cal Aero Flight School. Marino had been in the Real Estate field since the late 1950s and in 1963, Eva became a Real Estate Sales Agent, and they had established a long time real estate business. Marino had been a energetic and adventurous person who had wanted to soak every little bit out of every day in his life. Marino was preceded in death by his son Bill in 1980, and his wife Eva in 2004. He is survived by his son Gary DiMattio, his daughter Vicki Frappier, and her husband Gary. God Rest Your Soul, Dad. A visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m., with a Rosary at 7 p.m., Thursday, July 26, 2012, at Halley Olsen Murphy, Lancaster Chapel. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Friday, July 27, 2012, at Blessed Junipero Serra Parish. Interment will follow mass at Good Shepherd Cemetery.
