MATTHEW, LeRoy Mahina
MATTHEWS, LeRoy Mahina Born April 28, 1945, and passed peacefully away May 28, 2012. When you remember LeRoy remember his innocent, honest personality. Remember him as a good friend, full of life, and admired by generations of kids he helped. Remember him as a high school teacher and winning football coach. Remember him as the perfect role model to his children Christopher (Gabrielle), Michelle (Ken), Danielle (Ron) and step father to Summer Lam. Remember him as a loving husband to Gail. Remember him as a really fun grandfather to Tahani, Kainoa, Noelani, Keoni, Elizabeth, Christian, and Kai. Remember him as a favorite uncle to numerous nieces and nephews. The highlight of LeRoy's life was leading his Desert High School football team to the state championship and winning for the first time in the school's history. LeRoy also started a college scholarship program for his football players. LeRoy taught us how to live and in the end, he taught us how to die. He was the best of all of us, and we will miss him. Services will be held in Honolulu Hawaii at Hosoi Garden Mortuary on June 6, 2012.
