CARLSON, James Patrick (Jimmy, Pokey) Age 64, of Palmdale, Calif., died April, 25, 2012. James was born on Nov. 26, 1947 to Lucille and John Carlson. He served in the Army in the Vietnam War and was a long time resident of Palmdale, moving here as a child with his three siblings after the death of his father. James was proud of his father, a Pearl Harbor survivor. James enjoyed traveling especially to Arizona and the Grand Canyon. He loved sunsets at Crystal Cove, Disneyland's Pirates of the Caribbean ride and recently spent three days at the theme park. He enjoyed making others laugh and was always a listening ear for other's problems. He always had a Bible verse for everything, or a vitamin to solve an ailment. He would play his guitar everyday and always offered healing songs to everyone,. He witnessed to many and brought many people to the Lord, whom he had a special relationship with. He and his long time companion and wife, Heather, both attended the Highlands Christian Fellowship (thank you for many prayers) In the past, James served God at many churches through his music where he also served as a Deacon. James met Heather in 1990 after the death of his mother, Lucille. He was especially close to her and we know they are together in Heaven where we will one day meet again. James was a social person and enjoyed dining with friends while Heather was at work. He helped many, giving counsel to them and even picking up people less fortunate and getting them a meal or medical attention. James brought his stepdaughter, Jennifer, to the Lord in 1992, and always enjoyed the story. He enjoyed listening to her recite her Bible Verses and felt they came to life. He watched over her, always. James had a love for many. He loved his sister, Diana and he had a special place for brothers, John and Michael; nieces, Evanna, Debbie and Amanda Jolee whose photos he enjoyed immensely; and nephews, Tony, Cody, Cameron and Charlie. James is survived by his wife and long time companion Heather; his stepdaughter, Jennifer; his sister, Diana (Leroy Johnson); brothers, John and Michael, and numerous nieces and nephews. James will be cremated while his ashes will remain with his wife, Heather, who plans a celebration of his life. Anyone interested in attending a future service to honor his life, please contact Heather at: Baby, Pokey, you will be missed forever and always until we meet again, Heather. Amen.
