JOCHIMS, Ardith Aneta
JOCHIMS, Ardith Aneta 84, passed away into eternal life April 23, 2012. She was born on the family farm in Fedora, S.D. on June 5, 1927; graduating from Howard, SD High School in 1945. Memorial services and burial were held at the Phoenix Memorial Park on April 27, 2012. Ardith loved her family scattered as they are, and traveled to them often. She loved her job at Palmdale Hospital. She started as a switchboard operator soon after it opened in the early 60's and retired from her position as a business manager when the hospital closed on March 15, 1996. Ardith was well revered by the medical community. Ardith spent her retirement years with husband Wayne in Phoenix, Ariz. to be near their daughter, Anna. Her hobbies included reading, cooking, entertaining, traveling, singing, dancing and acting. A 'superior' award was bestowed on her for humorous acting in a 5th grade regional contest with entries from eleven counties. Ardith was preceded in death by husband Wayne, parents Melvin and Flona and sister Darlene. She is survived by daughters Wendy and Anna, sons Ron and Mike; stepchildren Dwight, Dale, Delores and Carol; 13 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. Our mom will always be remembered for her joy and love for family, life, and the community at large. She would like to be remembered for admonishing all to be honest, trustworthy and responsible for oneself; not depending on anyone other than oneself.
