LENO, Leighton E. Jr.
LENO, Leighton E. Jr. Leighton (Ed) Leno, Jr., 74, of Rosamond, Calif., died May 11, 2012, at home following a long illness. Ed was a long time resident of Rosamond where he lived with his wife, the late Nancy A. Leno. He was born on July 25, 1937, in Pittsfield, Mass., the son of the late Leighton E. and Glenna Martin Leno. Ed graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1955 and married Nancy Ann Hunt, also from Pittsfield, on October 13, 1956. Ed joined the US Air Force in May of 1959, and spent 23 years as an Avionics Instrument System Technician and Superintendent. During his enlistment, he received the Air Force Commendation Medal, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and Expert Marksmanship Medal. Following his retirement from the USAF, he worked as an Avionics Technician and Data Technician with Rockwell on the B-1 Bomber, with Northrop on the B-2 Bomber, and with Boeing on the Joint Strike Fighter. Ed is survived by; two sons, Michael Leno of Lusby, Md. and TJ Leno and his wife, Linda, of Lucerne, Calif.; two granddaughters, Jazmyne Leno, and Jessica Leno, both of Lafayette, Colo.; a sister, Beverly Stevens of Pittsfield, Mass. He will be greatly missed by them all.
