CRIMIN, Don Coach
CRIMIN, Don 'Coach' Passed away of a heart attack on May 4, 2012, in his home in Lancaster, Calif. Don was born in Yakima, Washington and raised in Oregon. He graduated from Grant High School in Portland, Oregon, and received his BA from Portland State University. He received an MA in history from the University of Idaho. Don was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Cold War era. Following his army service and graduation, Don moved to the Antelope Valley and began teaching and coaching track at Quartz Hill High School in l964. He was a member of the original staff. Don taught social studies and coached track and cross country. He was an outstanding teacher and served for many years as an excellent department chair. Coach Crimins teams won numerous CIF titles. He was well loved by his athletes. After a long career he retired in 1998. Don is survived by his wife, Sue, his daughters Tobey (TJ), Tara and Devon, his brother Jeff (Candy), his sister Carol, and his grandchildren Connor and Kenzie Goan.Don is and will continue be to missed by his family and numerous friends, who will always love him and treasure his memory. A memorial service for Don will be held on Tuesday, May 15, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Halley Olsen Murphy .
