HOSTETTER, Karen Dae Born Jan. 23, 1940, Glendale, Calif. Lancaster Class of '57 Died April 10, 2012, Mission, Texas. Karen grew up in Lancaster, Calif. Worked as a secretary at Edwards' Air Force Base before marrying. She was well known in the Dog World as the author of "The Shetland Sheepdog Pedigree Book" and Founder of the Shetland Sheepdog Library. Karen was an avid crafter, winning awards in ceramics, crocheting and knitting. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert John Kasson and Phyllis Wilcox Kasson. Karen is survived by her devoted husband of 54 years, John M. Hostetter. She leaves two daughters; Stephanie S. Hostetter-Veil of Munford, Tenn. and Melanie D. Gantzer of Louisville, Ky. She celebrated six Grandchildren; Corinthian T. Veil, Joshua M. Veil, Matthew C. Veil, Mary T. Pottkotter, Emmanuel Gantzer and Hannah Gantzer. She was blessed by three Great-Grandchildren; Matthew X. Veil, Carrie A. Veil and Alexander D. Veil.
