STOKKA, Dean C. Born on September 21, 1939, in Chicago, Illinois passed away on April 20, 2012, in Kingman, Arizona. Dean grew up in North Hollywood, California, and attended Van Nuys High School. He served six years in the California Army National Guard and twenty years in the California Air National Guard. Dean lived in Lake Los Angeles for 28 years. In addition to his military service he was self-employed in plumbing and evaporative cooler repair. Dean is survived by Susan (Sue) Stokka, his wife of 41 years, and his daughter, Dawn Stokka, both currently reside in Arizona. He is also survived by Dennis Stokka, a twin brother, and two sisters Joyce Hatton and Valerie Whie, all California residents. Dean will receive full military honors at the graveside service including a flag draped casket and a firing squad. There is no provision for viewing or visitation. The family would be honored by flowers or a gift in Dean's name to the American Cancer Society. Services will be held on May 5, 2012 at 10 a.m. at Desert Lawn Memorial Park, 2200 East Avenue S, Palmdale, Calif. 661-947-7177. A reception will follow the service at the Living Springs Foursquare Church, 17134 East Avenue O, Lake Los Angeles.
