WENINO, Donald W. Born on Sept. 4, 1930, and passed away in his home on April 18, 2012. Don was a resident of Palmdale, Calif. He was born in Fergus Falls, Minn. and graduated from Fergus Falls High school in June of 1948. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and Air Force. He worked as a Land Surveyor for over 40 years. As a member of the Meadowlark Golf Club, he achieved Golfer of the year in 1999, and the rare hole-in-one on six occasions. Also a member of the VFW. He was an avid boxer in his youth, participating in Golden Gloves Boxing Association and received accolades for his boxing while serving in the Armed Forces. A loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather he is survived by his wife Diana of 46 years and five children; Dino Wenino- Casper, Wyo., Gina Overacker (Terry)- Andover, Minn., Jerri Wenino- Imp Beach, Calif., Steward Wenino (Patty)- Port Huron, Mich., Jon Paul Wenino- Los Angeles, Calif., with seven grand children: Melissa, Amy, Derek, Devyon, Mackenzie, Keely, Anthony, three great-grandchildren; Gabriala, Roman, Isabella and his sister Pauline Engebretson. Interment with military honors will be held on Friday, May 11, 2012, from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Miramar National Cemetery, 5795 Noble Dr. San Diego, Calif. 92122.
