ARNOLD, Merle Merle Arnold, 84, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2012. Merle proudly lived in Palmdale more than 80 years. Merle liked bowling, playing pool, cats, fixing bicycles, strawberry milkshakes, driving cars, buses, and trucks (especially in parades), and sharing stories. Merle enjoyed senior center activities and volunteered for the sheriff's and fire departments. Merle served in the Army and retired from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. Merle was preceded in death by Doris Arnold, sister Jean, and parents Roy and Lillian. Merle will be missed by daughters Nancy and Ruth, granddaughters Lesley and Jayme, brother Lew, and sister Joy. The loving care Merle received from the caretakers the last few years is very much appreciated. Thanks also to Hoffmann Hospice for their care and support. No services will be held per Merle's request. Donations may be made in Merle's memory to Hoffmann Hospice in Palmdale. Merle's kindness, sense of humor, and sweet, beautiful smile will always be remembered with love.
