SIGMON, Vernon Lloyd Passed away peacefully the morning of January 1, 2012, at the age of 83. He was born on October 26, 1928, to proud parents Emanuel and Roda Sigmon, in Holtville, Calif. He graduated from Central Union High School in 1948, and College in 1950. Serving in the Army and also a Korean War Veteran from 1951 until 1956. During that time he married Doris Rivers, his wife of 37 years and moved to Los Angeles Calif., where he worked as a mechanic at Helms Bakeries. In 1972, he moved his family to Quartz Hill, Calif., and went to work for and retired from Wonder Bread. Vernon is survived by his son, Russell Sigmon ofLancaster Calif., daughter, Ardee Sigmon Daraskevius (Joe) of Rosamond Calif., two grandchildren, Russell Sigmon (Becky) of Bellevue Neb., Sasha Daraskevius of Denver Colo., two great-grandchildren, Gavin Sigmon and Maddyn Sigmon of Bellevue, Neb.,sister, Wilma Sigmon Beshers (Earl) of Prescott Ariz., many nieces, nephews and very special friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Doris Sigmon, brothers Lloyd Sigmon, Charles Sigmon and sister, Gertrude Sigmon Hawes. He loved traveling in his motorhome, working on his homes and gardens, listening to music andhad a special place in his heart for animals. Vernon was known for his love for the Lord, his family, friends and life. The family gives they're heartfelt gratitude to the Dr./Nurses from Kaiser, AV Hospital, Procare Hospice and Hall Ambulance fortheir hard work and the kindness given to our gentle, loving father. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
