A California resident since 1951, Phyllis had resided in the Palm Springs area since 1987. She was born and raised in Dayton, Ohio and was a graduate of Steele High School. She was also very active locally in the women's club, P.E.O. and the United Methodist Church of Palm Springs. Throughout her life, she appeared as a piano soloist and accompanist in many recitals but was most proud of her association with a trio of musicians from her alma mater, Otterbein University, and the group's performance at their 50th college reunion. She is survived by her nephew, Rodney Scott Brown (Patricia), of Colleyville, Texas and two nieces, Martha Brown Miller (David) of Fishers, Indiana, and Laura Brown Marcom (Keith) of Keller, Texas, and many dear and close friends.
