BOLZ, JAMES JIM ALLEN
BOLZ, James 'Jim' Allen, 83 June 24, 1928 ~ Dec. 10, 2011 Jim passed away peacefully from heart failure and is finally now at rest in his heavenly home. Jim will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and community. Jim was born and raised in Eagle Rock and San Dimas, California. Bolz and his father started a ranch in the Quartz Hill/Palmdale area in 1952, that is now known as Rancho Vista. As an Eagle Scout to Sea Scout/Coast Guard, Jim served briefly in World War II and then in the United States Army as a Sergeant (SFC) in the 38th Ordinance Co. in the Korean War. As a young man he was a charter member of the American Society of Professional Auto Racers (ASPAR). Jim was a charter member of the Lancaster Lions Club and served them and our community as Santa Claus for over 50 years. Jim is a charter and Life Member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW Post 3000) and served as their chaplain for many years. Jim served as a founding member, organizing director and officer of Ranchers Bank and as president of the Quartz Hill Chamber of Commerce. Jim enjoyed being a member of the Quartz Hill Sportsmen Club and was the 1988 Grand Marshall of the Almond Blossom Parade. Jim was an active member of the Lancaster Masonic Lodge No. 437 and received the Hiram Award in 1994. Jim has faithfully attended Central Christian Church since 1975. Jim had 'jobs he finished that he started' such as............... He is survived by his wife, Phyllis, sons Steve, Tom, Jim, step-daughter Cheryl, and nine grandchildren and one great-grandson. A memorial to celebrate Jim's life will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, January 7, 2012, at Central Christian Church 3131 West Ave J, Lancaster, CA 93536. A Reception will immediately follow the memorial service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Pasadena Scottish Rite Youth Orphans, 150 North Madison Avenue, Pasadena, CA 91101.
