BOLLSCHWEILER, Herminia 'Minnie' A resident of the Antelope Valley for 76 years, passed away peacefully on Nov. 2, 2011, at the age of 96. She was born in Santa Cruz, Sonora, Mexico and became a citizen of the United States in May 1967. As a volunteer for the Hospital Auxiliary and Lancaster Senior Center, she donated countless hours of service. She was a 40 year member of the Catholic Daughters and long-time member of the Emblem Club, Latin American Club, and Moose Lodge. Minnie enjoyed cooking, quilting, dancing, socializing, and partaking in the celebration of her heritage with family and friends. She will be fondly remembered for her delicious homemade tamales and authentic paper-thin tortillas. She is survived by her three children, Frank Ramos and his wife Karen (Lile); Pete Ramos; and Maria Smith and her husband Daniel. She also is survived by six grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Rosary will be held at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2011. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2011, both at Halley-Olsen-Murphy Mortuary, Lancaster.
