HOLLOWAY, Marguerite Ruth Age 91, died Oct. 13, 2011, in Lancaster, California. She was born June 3, 1920, in Santa Barbara, Calif., to Howard C. and Bertha Gano Stafford. Marguerite attended schoolin Santa Barbara and graduated from Santa Barbara High School in 1938. She married Edward O. SterlingNov. 8, 1947, in Santa Barbara and he died April 28, 1973, in Santa Barbara, Calif. On Nov. 18, 1976, she married William Maurice 'Bill' Holloway in Santa Barbara, Calif. They moved to Mojave, Calif., where Bill worked for the railroad and after Bill's retirement they moved to Lancaster, Calif. Bill died on April 26, 1999, in Lancaster, Calif., and she has continued to make her home there since. Marguerite worked for many years as a secretary for the Methodist Church in Santa Barbara and also other secretarial jobs in the Santa Barbara area. She was an accomplished seamstress and did beautiful needlepoint. Bill and Marguerite loved to square dance. They also enjoyed traveling and made trips to Europe, New Zealand and Australia plus traveling in the U.S. Marguerite was predeceasedby her parents, her brother, Howard C. Stafford and both of her husbands. She is survived by niece, Donna White and nephews, Gary Stafford and David Stafford, also several nieces and nephews of her husband, Bill Holloway. A visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m., Thursday Oct. 20, 2011, Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday Oct. 21, 2011, both at Halley-Olsen-Murphy, Lancaster Chapel. Interment to follow at Joshua Memorial Park.
