REED, Galen Wade Jr. Of Lancaster, was called home to be in Gods loving and watchful care, at the age of 91 years, on October 5, 2011. He was born, April 21, 1920, in Santa Monica, California, and moved to Lancaster with his family in 1929. He was a resident of Lancaster for over 82 years, graduating from Antelope Valley High School in 1938, and was a childhood friend of Judy Garland. Galen married Dorothy in 1942. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was a veteran of World War II. he worked for over 50 years in the Aerospace Industry until he retired in 1990. Galen was an avid golfer and enjoyed the outdoors with his dogs. He was also a Shriner and member of the Masonic Temple. Galen is survived by his wife of 69 years, Dorothy, his daughter, JoAnn, sons Galen (Debbie), Bill (Lynne), and Darren 'Skip' (Ginny). He was also blessed with eight grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Goodbyes are not forever, Goodbyes are not the end, they simply mean well miss you, until we meet again. Graveside Services will be held at 3 p.m., Friday, October 14, 2011, at Joshua Memorial Park & Mortuary, Lancaster, Calif.
